Phone Call or Video Conference – You Choose.
Over the Phone – Through a phone consultation, Alisha and the parent and provider can discuss the child’s current visual functioning abilities and challenges. This will allow Alisha to get a general idea as to what Phase the child falls on the CVI Range to be able to provide general recommendations of activities and adaptations to routines to enable the child to better use their vision.
Video Conferencing – The online conferencing option allows Alisha to directly talk with you, observe the child, and implement assessment items to administer the CVI Range to come up with a precise CVI Range score. For this option, providers or family will be given a list of materials to have on hand to directly use with the child under Alisha’s direction in order to allow Alisha to evaluate their child. The online conferencing option also allows Alisha to observe the child’s visual responses to specific interventions or adaptations that have been suggested and make further recommendations based on those observations. The online conferencing option can also serve as a means to coach providers or family on their direct interactions with the child to make their interactions as successful as possible in eliciting and promoting use of the child’s functional vision.
